Dear Editors:

We were confused by an item in the February 5 story, “Gay marriage ruling may ripple 
to California.”  In that article you referred to the Campaign for California Families 
as “a non-profit organization that promotes family values.”  However it was clear
from the text of the article that the spokesperson for the organization was against 
the state issuing marriage licenses for some couples and the legal recognition of 
some marriages.  We do not understand what sort of “family values” this organization 
could possibly be promoting.
